Monthly Anime Update! – 4/10/2010

Since the Parranoia blog has been inactive for quite sometime, I thought this will be a good opportunity to make a quick post on the latest anime-related news. So here we go!

• The finale of both K-ON!! and the second season of Sengoku Basara has announced that a movie is currently in production and will be released in 2011. Macross Frontier will also be getting a 3rd movie and it will take place after the ending of the anime series.

• If you love Code Geass, then you’ll be happy to hear that Sunrise is planning to release another season titled “Code Geass Side Story: The Ruined Land of Akito” to the insanely popular series. However, the characters and whereabouts of the story is still unknown.

• As you may have noticed, the fall season of anime has officially kicked off a few days ago! There’s an impressive line-up of new series along with the long-awaited sequels to To Aru Majutsu no Index, Letter Bee and Arakawa Under the Bridge.  For the full list of series airing this season, check out the awesome comprehensive guide at Random Curiosity.

SMASH! – 07/08/2010

In case if some of you have forgotten, SMASH is on this Saturday! As a brief reminder, the Parranoia team and a handful of club members will be selling anime & manga related goods at the convention. The event details are listed below:

When: Saturday, August 7
Where: Town Hall, Sydney
Time: 9:00am-6:00pm
Cost: $25 per person (door entrance)

As Michelle has already mentioned on the forum, this Friday will be the meet-up day before the actual event. So if you’re one of the 12 helpers (you know who you are), drop by at Town Hall and enter the side entrance via Druitt Street to collect your passes. Summary of Soccer Day – 13/07/2010

So after playing soccer for roughly 30 minutes, many of the players on both teams were on the verge of collapsing, while a few others went missing during the whole second half (I wonder why…?). It was a tight match, with golden opportunities being missed by both sides during the first half. For team A, Vincent and Otoha dominated as strikers but couldn’t capitalise on their shots towards goal. Team B had a couple of really good moments, but lacked the execution when it came to scoring.

As for the second half, well, team B was missing a couple of members and Hiroshima_X scored the first goal, despite being a goal keeper. Team A ended up wining the match 2-0, and it was a good effort by both teams. The soccer day was enjoyable, but I’m sure that most will agree that we’ll definitely need more breaks during the next match!

Soccer Day!

Parranoia will be hosting its first official soccer tournament next Tuesday, on the 13th of July. The event is being organised by one of our long-time members, William (aka wsms3 on the forum). Information regarding rules and teams has yet to be finalized, but you can be sure to bring water, sports shoes and of course, some spirit!

Place: UWS Parramatta campus, basketball courts
Day/time: Tuesday, 13th of July at 10am
